Snackable Fruit Biscuits
What You Need:
3 C all purpose flour
5 tsp. baking powder
1 C sugar
1 C butter
1 egg
1 C milk
1/2C dried fruit, chopped
How to Make It:
Set the oven at 375 degrees and allow heating up.
Place the flour, baking powder and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
Toss to combine well.
Add the butter and mix with a pastry blender until the mixture becomes crumbly in texture.
Add the egg and milk.
Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until completely combined.
Fold in the dried fruit.
Lightly flour a flat surface such as a cutting board or counter.
Place the dough on the floured surface and use a rolling pin to roll the dough out until it is 1/2in thick.
Dip a 2 in cookie cutter or a large drinking glass rim into the flour and cut the dough out into circles.
Keep placing the cutter into the flour to insure it doesn’t stick to the dough
.
Place the dough rounds onto a very lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown.
6 Servings
Any dried fruit including raisins will work in this recipe. Mix and match them to find just the right flavor.
