Healthy Snack for Kids

Snack time has always been the favorite time of the day for kids. For most kids, snack time is the meal where they are not expected to eat veggies and other “adult” foods with gusto. It is the meal where they can eat as much as they want while watching television or while playing with others. Snack time is a fun time for kids.

Since this is the favorite meal of kids, parents need to find ways on how they can make healthy snacks for kids without them thinking that you’ve cheated. In the mind of a child, snack is the time to eat chocolates, junk foods and the likes.
It is your duty as the parent or as an elder to make sure that the food that you’ve prepared is healthy but still leasing in the eyes of the child.

Some of the healthiest snacks for kids are fruits and veggies platter, crackers and cheese and oven baked fries and toasted nuts. The fruits and veggies platter can be the favorite snack of your kid. Make sure to use fruits and veggies in different colors. Cut and slice them in different shapes and whip a simple dip that is quite sweet. The arrangement of colors of the fruits and veggies plus the dip will easily catch the attention of the kid.

Crackers and cheese is the snack version of milk and biscuits. Serve different crackers to your kid, some flavored and others plain. Choose at least three types of cheese so your kid can pick up what he wants.

Fries and nuts are snack favorites of all. To make this snack combination healthy, instead of frying the fries, bake them in the oven and instead of using flavored peanuts, toast a plain one.
